She wasn't happy

She wasn't ever enough

She tried her very best

But never gained her mother's love.

She was stuck, in a place so dark

There was no escape

Except to put a lock around her heart.

Now every time someone says they love her

She always thinks they lied

Does she know what love is?

No, she doesn't, because now she has died.

That little girl who never gained her mother’s love

Is now dead, and high up above.

Up in the sky so far away

Where no one can hurt her in any way.

This is a eulogy that I wrote to my childhood self because I never really experienced being a child and having fun. I had to always meet expectations that my mother had set for me but even if I did meet those rules, I was still never. good. enough.
