The Correctionsweaves the tale of a modern Midwestern family. Alfred and Enid Lambert are aseemingly normal couple, but tragically, Alfred has been diagnosed withParkinson's disease. In an attempt to reunite with their adult children, Enidinvites the family to one last Christmas at their home. Dealing with failedbusiness ventures, marriages and goals, however, the three Lambert children areanything but willing.

This novel follows the lives of these five people, traveling from Wall Street to Lithuania and from catastrophe to harmony. With thecomic and tragic lives of the characters, the family becomes a metaphor for every"modern American family" - one everyone can relate to.
