Ames, IA: Iowa State University is a tremendous school with great transportation, on-campus apartments, and many sports. It offers community service and employment opportunities to fit your schedule. There are year-round sports to enjoy. Plus, ISU has what they call “Step Inside,” a room selection process that allows you to pick exactly where you’d like to live.

Fees are pretty straightforward at this public institution - in-state students pay $13,762 while out-of-staters living on campus pay $23,109. Majors include agriculture, business, engineering, and veterinary medicine. There are about 26,000 students, with 22,000 undergraduates.

Cyride is Ames’s public transportation system. You can get anywhere in town on this bus, and ISU students ride for free. There isn’t a lot of parking on campus so this is great.

I recommend this university to anyone because it offers so many opportunities. It has a nice environment and is a place where lasting friendships begin. Check out www.iastate.edu.
