By Elizabeth W., No. Platte, NE

Wars, riots and famine all throughout the land
I wonder sometimes how things got so out of hand
If there were more love
(Because that’s what we have so little of)
The world would be such a different place
We wouldn’t live in such a rat race
We need to take the time each day
Remembering our family, friends and country along the way
Everyone would be someone else’s own
No one would be alone
Wishes would come true
No one would be blue
A simple smile as you walk down the street
This could change the lives of those you meet
Everyone would have a friend
Love would never end
Thinking more of others and not of me
What a wonderful world this could be
So make a difference in your land
Simply by giving others a hand.
