By Amanda, OH

“Spilled Coffee” reminds me of a girl I know who is suffering from depression. She is having trouble at home and with relationships. She doesn’t know how to deal with all the pain and abuse that being “weird” in high school brings. She has turned to abusing herself. She does not eat for days at a time and cuts herself when some self-righteous individual puts her down. To see her harming herself and living only to impress others hurts her friends and family.

After reading “Spilled Coffee,” I realize how serious depression is and I pray that one day my friend will listen to those who are trying to help with her self acceptance. The thought of losing my best friend makes me sick
