Teen Ink Blogs

By Theresa K., Middletown, DE

Every time I pick up Teen Ink, I find something that grabs my attention. This time it was a poem by Olamide A. “Just a Color” is so true to the stereotypes in the world that African-Americans have to deal with. It’s actually quite sad.

I love how she described herself as not “ghetto” or from the “hood.” She says that being black is just a color and not who she is. This poem made a difference to me, and I hope it makes a difference all over the world.
