   I recently experienced something during the divingportion of a swim meet that I will never forget. My friends and I were cheeringon our only diver, who was ready to take her turn. She gracefully executed herdive, leaving few ripples behind in the water.

Three and a Half Seconds
   Three and a half seconds left. I stared straight ahead,not looking at the basket, my teammates or the coach. From the sidelines came afaint sound of voices, stomping, clapping, but I paid little attention.

Why Can't We Win?
   Losing can be so frustrating. This is my third year as avarsity starter on the field hockey team, and our combined record is 2 wins, 33losses and one tie. Go ahead and laugh, even I'll admit it's pretty sad.
