I would like
to find a job
where people would accept me on the spot-
give me money,

Lost and scattered memories
hang upon the twisted wire fence
with ivy-coveredwalls and
broken rose stems covering the
crumbling stone benchthat
rests near a wheat-infested garden
where the nightshadegrows
amidst the yarrow and the
morning glories are now closed.

It's the little things that keep coming back
in the middle of the night
as myeyelids push down
and I begin to dissolve into sleep -

Thejuice
that poured down her chin
as she laughed

Each cloud a new canvas
The changing weather, like a paintbrush
Each windsmearing paint
On the bright blue background
The sun is the paint
Addingvibrancy and contrast
The sky
The ever-changing picture

was spent yelling
Out loud and at myself
Out loud it was mostly at you
withyour domineering authority
And obsessive meddling

when nobodycared to poke their head
inside my door
and impossibly intrude

Sending the last lingering raindrops
To mingle on thewooden park bench below.
And we sat in the damp,
