A Cruel Place
by Adam O., Wilmington, DE
I’ll be honest, I did not know people did those kinds of things to animals or realize how many animals are hurt or killed because of testing. It really is cruel.

A Cruel Place
by Levi B., Dell Rapids, SD
I am sick of people not wanting to harm animals, test products on them, or, God forbid, eat them. I dislike all PETA people, unless they are People for the Eating of Tasty Animals.

A Dying Breed
by Scott G., Litchfield Park, AZ
Rachel, you asked all the questions that I have asked: Why don’t people care about what is happening anymore? Why are most songs only about sex, drugs, and violence? What happened to songs and people that not only call for change, but did something about ...

Celebrity Obsession
by Katrina P., Plainfield, IL
I completely agree with this article - kids are more worried about what brand clothes they are wearing, their popularity, and fitting in while believing they are being themselves. It sounds confusing, and it is, but think about it.

Curly
by Kimberly R., Peoria, AZ
Thank you so much, Christine, for writing about your curly hair! My curly hair is a testament to my Irish-Italian heritage, and although most people might not find your story about hair significant, raising awareness of diversity is very important.

Global Warming
by Preston M., Dell Rapids, SD
I agree completely with this article: global warming is a huge problem. There is way too much small talk about this situation by us as a nation, we need to start acting on it.

Invisible
by Adam P., Phoenix, AZ

Marrissa
by John C., Brooklyn, NY
It took courage for the girl who wrote “Marrissa” to send it to Teen Ink. Many people have met online and lied about themselves.

Organic Food
by Christy B., Newark, DE
In response to Mallory’s article about organic food and healthy eating, I think she is absolutely right. This country is going downhill, nutrition-wise. Thanks, Mallory, for noticing and making this issue known.

Speak Up, Take Action
by Kaitlyn F., Lacey, WA
In my world literature class, we have been learning about genocide, from the Holocaust to the genocide in Rwanda and the ongoing genocide in Darfur, Sudan. One thing I have learned from researching these atrocities is that the world cannot just do nothing.

Spine Betrayal
by Marisa R., Dell Rapids, SD
I was amazed by Trisha’s story about scoliosis. Her story has given me the courage to do anything no matter what pain I may face. It is truly unbelievable how this young lady faced such a tough challenge that most would have backed away from.

Talk to (Some) Strangers
by Paige B., Plainfield, IL
Many people don’t take the time to be courteous. Frances, author of “Talk to (Some) Strangers,” does a good job of portraying our world.
