Teen Ink Magazine, February 2008 : Feedback Articles

Acts of (Selfish) Kindness
by Michael D., Hawthorne, NY
I wholeheartedly agree with Daniel R.’s article, “Acts of (Selfish) Kindness.” I, too, have noticed the dissolute road that “volunteering” is now traveling.

Changing Leaves
by Candice S., Maxwell, NE
I really enjoyed “Changing Leaves” by Lalita R., because it’s true that many of us at the age of 14 think we have found the one and only, our true soul mate. But in reality, that person is probably not the one we will be with for the rest of our lives.

Don’t Blame MySpace
by Pamela R., Wetherfield, CT
I agree with Natalie W. about MySpace, because I myself have a MySpace page, and I know how to control it since I know how to set up the privacy account controls.

When you make yourself a MySpace page, you don’t even have to use your last name.

Silent Waltz
by Adam B., Streetsboro, OH
In the December issue I thought “Silent Waltz” by Taylor D. was a pretty good piece. I liked it because Taylor described how they all sat in silence as they unpacked in their new house. My family did the same thing except for the dancing.

Teen Ink and TeenInk.com
by Kira C., Lehi, UT
I wanted to write and tell you that I really like reading your paper. I enjoy all the fun things in there, like the poems and movie reviews. I have submitted my own stuff on TeenInk.com also. I really like reading other people’s poetry and letters.

Teen Ink and TeenInk.com
by Matthew K., Wilmington, DE
I really like the movie review section in Teen Ink. It helps me decide whether or not I want to see a movie. This is helpful because they can be pretty expensive and I like to know if other kids my age liked a movie.

Teen Magazines Lack Substance
by Alysha S., Dell Rapids, SD
I agree with Natascia L. I sometimes wish I could read about topics other than Paris Hilton or how to apply eyeliner correctly. I think that if we had a magazine that talked about actual news, it would sell.

Tested
by Justin D., Wetherfield, CT
Athina M. described a driving test perfectly. I received my license a year ago, so I can relate to her sweating and trying to remember the driving school’s steps of what to do first and watching the speedometer to make sure not to go over the speed limit.

The Power to Choose
by Josiah A., No. Platte, NE
“The Power to Choose” by Jasmine N. questions the same ideas that I often ask myself.

Uniforms Understood
by Rilla H., Oak Bluffs, MA
When I read “Uniforms Understood” by Katie L., it made me realize how lucky I am to go to a school without uniforms. I would hate to have to look the same as all the kids in my school.

Violent Gaming
by Justin M., Boise, ID
I really liked Jonathan G.’s article about violent video games. I own some extremely violent games, but I agree with him. I know the difference between cutting somebody’s head off in the game and actually doing it.

Winning Is Everything
by Sarah H., Spring City, TN
I read this poem in Teen Ink that discouraged me beyond belief. It affirmed that winning is everything to an athlete. As an athlete myself, I will admit that winning is wonderful, but it is by far not everything.

Wish List
by Dareese B., Streetsboro, OH
The best article in the December issue was “Wish List” by Jennifer P. who wanted only one present for Christmas - and it wasn’t something anyone could buy her. It was an acceptance letter from a college.
