I had no idea what to expect when Iput Peter Cincotti's self-titled debut album into my CD player. Only 19, he hasdrummed up much buzz and critical praise, and after reading a few rave reviews, Idecided to see what all the hype is about.

As the first song began, I waspleasantly surprised by Cincotti's smooth, clear and confident voice. His is thetype of music I imagine in a smoky 1920s club, a far cry from today's rap/rockscene.

Cincotti's talent is undeniable and his mesmerizing voice isaccompanied by impressive piano playing. His sound is very mature, and although Idoubt this CD will ever become well-known among teenagers, I would definitely putit on when trying to relax or while doing homework.

While I can't promisethat this album will keep me from blasting Eminem in my car, I definitely have anew opinion of jazz. I am positive Cincotti will be around for a long time tocome. I suggest you pick up this album because I know that you will be impressedand pleased with what you hear, just as I was!
