Daddy left today.
Daddy went away.
He packeda bag
saying it was for the best
and pulled me,
crying,
to hischest.
He said he was the problem,
the cause for all her pain
He saidhe'd only be gone
for a little while
in hope that she'd grow sane.
Theyused to be able to read
each other's minds -
that's how close theywere
but now,
he can no longer reach her
and too many opportunities havepassed.
Lights roll silently from my window
as brother and Iweep
wondering how much longer our family will last.
