By Ned S., Newton, MA

   Excitement!

It fills me.

Running outside

In the OCTOBER

Night with leaves

And wind, And

It's crisp, And

I spin and jump;

Run and jump.

I want to touch--

To be the sky.

On the grass

I lie looking at the moon.

The wind by my ear.

It's the leaves

I think to myself

I'm a leaf, moving

Under the wind.

Not lifeless:

But pure life itself.

Glowing. Vibrant.

In the Dark.

Inside.

Inside I run

And bring with me

The out. My mind swimming.

Excitement! It fills me!
