By Wujun K., Chapel Hill, NC

I miss the yellow leaf
Which fell upon my head
And the church bell that announced
What time is what
And the tree I have climbed so oft
And the white dogs that barked
And barked inside a fence
I long to see friendly faces
Who smile at me through the windows
On a bus
They call for me to come back
Into fake reality
And into a dream ...
I want to go with them
It is tugging at my heart
But there is no turning back
It is already the past.
