By Claire B., New City, NY

I completely related to Caroline’s experience in the May issue. When I first tried out for cheerleading, everything was a struggle. I was always a step behind on the dances and missing a few words and a movement here or there on the cheers. I got so fed up with it that I seriously considered quitting, but then I told myself just to keep at it. Every night at home I practiced my jumps, cheers and dance steps.

I am so glad I did not quit because I went on to complete football season, basketball season, and I was on the competition squad. Now, cheerleading is what I do all year round, and I intend to continue until I graduate. Maybe I’ll do it in college. I am glad Caroline wrote about something we have in common.
