By Christine T., Irvine, CA

Yesterday we drove for miles, down
A road that stretched dream-far, and
As we sailed by cracking walls I
Saw you in the freeway-ivy.
The sun was in the sky that day;
Its glower filled my tortured
Throat, and you were in the sun
That day - your fingers tapered
Through the rays.
