By Steve O., Reno, NV

I dreamt of being a blue flying ghost
weaving through rush hour traffic
the whole world held up in gridlock
except me (and him)
just slightly ahead of me
and just slightly
out of my reach
but I had to reach him
cat and mouse chase on Interstate 77
I had the wind to my back
I had the city to my back
it could have been Chicago
but it wasn’t
it was the heart
pushing him and me through the capillary highway system
I was blood but he was too
so we both ran
the best chase scene ever and of course the hero won
