Teen Ink Blogs

By Jennifer H., Hayward, CA

I opened a book to pull the words out.
I will admit that I never have and never will
understand the meaning, or the use of a definition.
How can a book define
Interpretation?
Who decides?
Are they worth the pages,
worth the ink?
Between the covers - is it all worth the time?
I want,
I need
simplicity.
I make up the meanings
and I define everything happening to me -
everything around me.
I interpret.
You said you never have and never would understand
and I think
I like it that way.
I closed the book when I heard my pen start scratching.
Some things you must make up for yourself.
Some things must be kept secret.
