By Alex H., St. Peters, MO

The sun sets
Last call for good-byes,
time to leave him.
I stroll down a highway of memories
halted by a sudden epiphany.
Ten years
of arguing, fighting, and bloodshed
I don’t want to let him go.
The car starts to creep away
I find myself searching for him,
though I know where he is.
As this hurricane of my suppressed emotion
surges out of control
the salty rain drips from my bloodshot eyes
I stare blindly back.
Good-bye, Eric, my brother, my tormenter,
My brother, good-bye.
