Autumnal Freedom

By Jessie L., New City, NY

Autumnal freedom spreads its wings
For me today
Catches onto the flutter of
Caramel and ruby foliage
And rests in the tranquility
Of colorful piles of November
Autumnal freedom spreads its wings
For me tomorrow
To awaken the sleeping spiral of
Passionate wind
Hibernating in summer’s scorch
Cold, cold gusts cling to me
Tighter, yet still escape
Winter’s pending bite
Autumnal freedom’s chilly breath
Holds me close to the warmth of
My tainted overcoat
Pure air emerging
From summer’s sweet conclusion
Transforms the dismal sky
Into a picturesque ambiance
