Teen Ink Blogs

By Kristen B., Hopkinton, MA

Slow down, I beg you.
But you never listen.
Instead, you taunt me during these precious years,
Never pausing on your path, a full circle of movements
That direct my destiny.
A stillness is what I crave, let me sit and watch,
Capturing the moments
That you rush to erase.
Let me fill each tick to the brim with memories,
Until they overflow in my mind.
But you never listen, as you spin around
Up on that wall, with constant speed and certainty
Marking the minutes of my life.
