On the Rim of an empty bottle
Lipstick remnants drip red,
And hint of gasping gulps
Eyes follow the tilt of the glass.
On the Rim of an empty bottle
A girl rests her rose red lips,
Parting, an innocent smile.
Cheeks suggest a sunrise
Too perfect.
Her eyes cloaked in midnight blue
Are guarded by harsh black lines
“Do not enter”
they say.
“Beware”
they warn.
Lips seduce the stranger,
A beautiful show of elegance and
Sophistication.
On the Rim of an empty bottle
She rests the tilting glass for sleep.
Slender arm draped over one side.
Blond hair blanketing her delicate face.
Body curving to the shape of the Rim.
On the Rim of an empty bottle
The girl lives her life,
As empty as her bottle.
