By Sarah C., Millsboro, DE

Oh, how I’d love to write in French!

To come off as worldly and wise,
To be the first one to impress,
To entertain the enterprise.
To speak the soft romantic tongue,
Creamy words dripping down my chin.
For words to ring out like a gun,
Leaving the ignorant chagrined.
With “s’il vous plait”s and “tres bien”s
Injected into crude English,
Only every now and again,
At my poem’s start or finish.
Language: Au ’voir to blessed thee,
You will always be dear to me.
