Themills were too busy. There was too much pollution
The world needed the steel.Carnegie did what he had to.
There was no safety equipment. It was toodangerous.
There was no time for precautions. Steel was more important.
Menworked too hard, too long.
They knew what they were getting into. They gotpaid.
There were too many immigrants. The city was overcrowded.
They werehonest men, looking for a living.
