The paper flower that you gave me last week,
Made byyour best friend,
Smelling like magnolias
With Chinese writing that shewrote for you
The paper frog I sent back,
Which I learned from that farawayplace
That I went to, and now I'm back
Able to appreciate what I'd leftbehind
The paper kite that we flew that day
When the wind was perfect forflying
And the sun shone bright, but was blocked
By the lining of theorange tail
And the note that I wrote to you today
Looking at your face asyou read it,
Seeing the unemotional visage of a boy
Who's been folded intoa wad of botched origami
