Mouth to mouth, you blew
life into the chest of the zombified young man
whorevived, air passages
newly unsealed, newly recovered from a shatteredheart

Christmas lights turned on again
inside a dismal closet;
yourepainted hope and faith in his mind.

His heart slowly repairs itself, piece by piece
with fasteners of all kinds:
glue, cement and ducttape
make his heart whole again but
weight with fear of being
droppedonce more.

He's standing up in his coffin,
brushing off the past,looking
with wide white eyes: happiness
for what is tocome.

Shaking clumps of sob-filled memory
like earth out hishair,
he tears the calluses off his soul,
for now his heart
has beenspoken to again.
