Youlook at me,
Your every movement
Saying "you don't know me"
When I am the only one who does.

When everyone else
Turned theirbacks
And refused to listen
To your cries of pain.
Your threats ofdeath.
The reflection of a flowing sea of red in your eye.
The sound ofthe tears as they hit your pillow.

I was the one who sat with you
Anddidn't turn my back.
Yet I do not know you.
I don't know what you thinkevery second you make a gesture in any direction,
Or your eye blinks with aton attached to it as you try to leave your eyes open.
And close out thethoughts that drove you to letting me know you, yet I do not.

Perhaps youare the one who doesn't know you
Because I was actually there.
