Awakenings

Teen Ink Blogs

By Robb J., Slingerlands, NY

   torn from my alternate reality

ripped apart are my aspirations

forced from my warmth, my security

it's that unrelenting noise which prods me on

stop! stop! i howl in anguish

i'll submit to you

only release me from such agony

it refuses

i strike at it blindly, only in vain

it becomes unbearable and i hurl myself upon it

silence is compensation enough

i pull myself from the wreckage

only to find solace in a voice

which has nurtured me from birth

WHAT DO YOU WANT FOR BREAKFAST?
