City Rain

Teen Ink Blogs

By Katy M., Congers, NY

   Rain

the drops

like baby angels:

glitter

under a

fluorescent street light.

Swimming in

the dark eyes

of the city,

gold

and crimson

lights

crawl into

the sky,

paint the rain

like shattered

stained glass

from a burning cathedral.

So the angels,

their wings

webs

of opal

and amethyst,

die

in rusted gutters,

unnoticed.
