Marked Sunset

Teen Ink Blogs

By Paul T., Brooklyn, NY

   Dawn.

Sea gulls glide in the distance

The soothing shore deposits and reclaims

its treasures

Couples stroll hand-in-hand and I,

reading yoru parting words

Wondering why you left without saying farewell

A sad note on my porch to ease my pain

Now I am alone, thinking about our secrets,

our good times

My tears, a testament of my love for you

And now as I think of what you watned

from me,

What you wanted me to be and how true

your love really was

A cool summer breeze, whispers your name

Emotions tamper, feelings flow and thoughts

confirm

You are gone and my life must continue

regardless

Love has shattered and memories linger

In the middle, lies a marked sunset.
