No Need For Subtitles

Teen Ink Blogs

By Rachel S., Niagara Falls, NY

Second hour of the foreign film

Bits of artistic expression

Capturing the trials of everyday life

I saw this picture many times

It doesn't hold the same appeal

I can replay the reruns or go on

Stirring the coffee in my bottomless cup

Inhale the familiar scent of mocha

While closing my eyes

No need for subtitles

There are no grays worthy to mention

When things are always black and white

Except for you, tapping your spoon against your mug

Defying the routine quiet of the crowd

If only to throw some vitality my way

You know, I'm getting old at it

So why don't you refresh me

If only because it's night

And it's lightly raining.
