The Sky

By Karen E., Houlton, ME

The sky is like an open mind.

It expresses all thought

through its wondrous colors.

I hear it in the back of

my mind when I'm in bed at

night, crying for the light of the

sun to break through the empty

darkness.

During the day I feel it fall

over me in comfort, with its

white, wispy clouds and the

feeling of happiness.

It's a friend in disguise waiting

patiently for an empty mind, so it

can fill it full of thoughts.

The sky soars over the hot

deserts, it falls over the mountains

with their white snowy peaks, and

over the cool oceans like a fluffy

blanket, keeping everyone from

harm, like a friend.
