The Tree

Teen Ink Blogs

By Rebecca B., Somerville, MA

A wise old man once told me,

when I want to give up think of a tree.

Through the winter it is brown and bare,

spring comes along and it is full of cheer.

The thin cold branches that once looked mean,

are soft and full of leaves a green.

It is just like life when you've hit the ground,

with a little sunshine it can all turn around.

I believe with each and every hard day,

there is a week of happiness on the way.

So do not give up and remember the tree,

for its life will bloom, just like me.
