By Laura E., New City, NY

   My hands squirm around

the sand and

unconsciously paint pictures

of the visions in

my mind.

Slowly pushing pebbles together

with my strong fingers

I fingerpaint the shore

creating pictures

of the love, fear and rage

inside of me.

As the great orange fireball

slowly slips into the ocean

and the bright blue sky

intensifies to the vividness

of my heart,

the tide crashes into the beach

and my visions are erased.

blending into the melting

memories that will

be stored in my soul.
