Daffodils

Teen Ink Blogs

By Dylan W., Malden, MA

   Mysteries of creation

Wonderstruck daffodils blowing freely

Roads and wheels

Great laughing trucks parked at roadside cafes

Blankly burning horizons

Horses free in the desert, running

Sand

Elements of eternity we call down to reinvent life

Insanity lurking around the corner of boredom

Languid clothing stores and lonely apartments

Packed streets, frowning faces

Far away: the sand

Scrolling lives that will never end

Near: the steam of manholes

Prostitutes, distortions; loud raucous beat mongering weeds

Cigarette clogged, alcohol numbed existences

Speaking softly in a back alley

The daffodils decide to seek assistance
