Prison

By Shawn D., Stoneham, MA

Hate is a prison without walls

When we hate, we are trapped

Surrounded on all sides by darkness

Ignorance is the chain that holds us in

this prison

We fear what we don't understand

And we hate what we fear

We must open our minds

No prison is big enough or strong enough

to hold an open mind

Love and understanding is the light that cuts

through this darkness

Seek that light

Break the chains

Once the chains are broken, the prison

will crumble

And the darkness will yield to light
