A Thanksgiving Meal

By Nicole T., Westford, MA

   Slowly, room by room

Each room is filled

With the mouth-watering aroma.

Clanging of pots and pans

And the laughter of many

Fill the air

As a great feast is prepared

In the kitchen.

Quietly, chair by chair

Each chair is filled,

As people come in to

Sit down.

Grace is said, with a

Bow of all heads

Before everyone begins

His meal.

Slowly, one by one

Each stomach is filled

And the clatter of forks

Is lessened.

Gradually, everyone drifts away

Once more, and

This marks the end

Of another

Thanksgiving meal.
