By Wendy J., Cupertino, CA

I have learned to be alone

Keeping my dreams and hopes unknown

I depend on my thoughts to keep me entertained

And I wonder how much of me has changed

I am not as open, wild and free

As I know that I used to be

I try to find a happy place

To fill this hollow empty space

My dreams are scary and overwhelmingly frightening

The fear of death and its evil sting has been heightening

My loneliness cannot go on anymore

I will have to open up my door

And let the whole world finally see

What they have been missing - the real me.
