Wild Christmas Tree

Teen Ink Blogs

By Stephen D., Needham, MA

   Oh, needle-tipped evergreen,

Your towering form I have seen

Reaching into the cold winter sky.

The freezing blast sent snowflakes to fly

Around you in columns of white

That shone in the star's light.

The wind has whispered in your ears

Secrets that no man hears.

How long have you stood here, venerable tree?

And how many Christmases have passed by thee?
