Infinite Peace

Teen Ink Blogs

By Catherine L., ,

   The last bell has rung

She stands alone in the classroom

inhaling the heavy scent of

well-used textbooks

feeling the grooves worn in the desks

imbibing the leftover thoughts of

countless students

hearing a thousand pencils

scribbling furiously on thick pads of paper

She feels at peace with life, the

infinite peace of knowledge

coming forth

words of wisdom from

teacher to student

and back again.

Next year there will be

new questions

new thoughts

new explorations, but that feeling of

infinite peace

will be the same

waiting

welcoming her back to

infinite peace
