By Susan S., Louisville, KY   (More by this author »)

Life is a Mad Lib where
Ignorant People
Stick words in
Haphazardly
And wait to see the result.

They do it for humor,
A hollow laugh
Hoping that the words
Will give them at least
One amusing story
To tell
No matter what the cost.

Those little words fill the
Blanks of our lives
As People randomly choose
Who we are
With those
Seemingly insignificant terms.

They dictate where we go,
Who we see,
And affect us
Deeper
Than anyone knows.
But to give in
To those terrible stereotypes
Is to
Lose ourselves
In the Mad Lib that is Life.
