I kept things really abstract, working from the background first and then the body. I also wanted to experiment with lighting. Doing this one was actually more enjoyable than very detailed work I've been doing. Instead of carefully choosing my brushes, I picked them randomly, testing them out as I went along. I'll definitely be doing more abstract/impressionistic stuff like this! I got so into this one that I drew really small compared to my usual stuff so this only took me about 2.5 hours. I made the image larger when I was done though.« read less
I love the expression in his face and the colors work well with the entire piece. For an experiment this turned out amazingly! Personally I'm a bit wary of experimentation but from seeing this I already feel more confident about trying something myself. Great work.
