Nixie is a 16 year old orphan, who gets the chance of a lifetime to go on a world cruise. When she stops by Scotland, she meets a witch in her shop, and the witch insists Nixie to have a very special necklace: A dark scale on a single silver chain. After putting it on, Nixie cannot take it off, the scale is stuck to her skin. Weeks past and scales start to grow over her body.
