Author's note: I believe that Louis Pasteur was an inspiring person that never gave up in his quest to help other people. I learned that finding cures for diseases can be difficult, but Louis was the right man for the job. Louis Pasteur is one of my favorite heroes. He inspired me many times. Like him, I want to become someone know very well for curing diseases others in need. I wish to cure present diseases such as cancer and AIDS. Let Louis Pasteur inspire!  « Hide author's note

A curious mind is born to the world

Louis Pasteur was born on thee day of 27the of December in 1822. His birthplace was in Dole in the Jura region of France and he grew up in the town of Arbois. He lived with the family of a poor tanner, a person who’s learned craft is to produce leather from animal skins. Louis had 3 sisters and a pair of hardworking, encouraging and inspiring parents. His sisters were Virginie, Emilie, and Josephine. His father was Jean-Joseph Pasteur and his mother was Jeanne Pasteur.
As he grew up, Louis heard of many people dying inexplicably due to animal bites. Although they didn’t know that the illness was now known as rabies, they did know that these people died from this brain-infecting disease. His sisters Emilie and Josephine also suffered from unknown diseases at the time of Louis’ youth. Emilie was infected withe a disease now known as epilepsy, while Josephine suffered from tuberculosis.
During Louis’s time the Arbois College, he found it hard to concentrate. His teachers considered him a slow, dreamy boy. In reality, his mind was busy questioning how diseases affected people all thee time and why no one had thee answers. These questions inspired him and shaped thee person he would become.
