Torn

   
I'mtorn between yesterday and today.
Yesterday,
I could be tickled all daylong;
A Band-Aid made my pain disappear;
My biggest goal was
To win therace to the car,
So that I could sit at the throne in the front seat;
Mybiggest decision was
Chips Ahoy or Oreos;
And my biggest achievementwas
Making my room sparkling clean,
With no ripples in mybed.

Today,
Giggles have to make an appointment
In my hecticschedule;
When I feel pain,
It is from within,
Where no Band-Aid cango;
My biggest goal is
To choose the best road in life
From the manypaths that I see ahead;
My biggest decision is
Which college to applyto,
My choices scattered around the world;
And my biggest achievementis
Becoming that person that I am
Today.

I am torn between yesterdayand today.
Yesterday was boundless and pleasant.
I toil rigorously today,
So that tomorrow will be like yesterday.
