Was it a bomb? A virus? A shift in the stars? Aliens? No one knew. Magazines and newspapers spoke of the incident for months. They asked "Why this would happen to us?" No one knew.
Now, in the year 2020, no one is beautiful. People have their different ideas of what beautiful is, I know. But if you saw us now, you would agree. No one is beautiful.
Why is this really such a problem, you ask. I mean we still have two arms and two legs, we have two eyes and ears. But we are all ugly.
Now, it's not an anomaly. But in the year 2015, when it happened, it was strange. I was fifteen. Magazines came out with make up tips that could help, but of course they really couldn't. The covers of the magazines had the old faces of movie stars. The rate of suicide went up 30% that year.
Men were affected by it too, but they had a hard time realizing that women didn't fit into their ideals anymore.
After it happened, scientists studied babies. They were born looking like any other baby. They looked like beautiful little toddlers, but as their innocence, and their kindness changed, so did their appearance.
Scientists hypothesise that our appearance is now based off of our true personality. Peoples appearances differ from one person to the next, but no one is truly beautiful.
