Johanna's Point Of View~
I was sitting in the passenger seat of my brother’s 2005 White Jeep when I saw your taillights. I was sure they were yours. They pulled down onto our road, my heartbeat quickened. You wanted to talk to me… I was nervous and scared. As my brother pulled into our drive you stood coolly leaning against your car. Your face set and serious. I hesitantly got out of the car and flashed you a smile.
“Hey,” you said, “we need to talk…” Having just arrived home from church I was in a skirt and heels.
“Hold on let me change really fast” I said as I walked toward the house.
“No, Johanna we need to talk NOW.” Great I thought walking down the road in heels and a skirt, it was 39°(F) I was going to freeze…
“Don if we are walking me feet will start to hurt.” I said.
“Then you can take your shoes off when they start to hurt.” Your baby blue eyes looked pleading.
“Ok but we better hurry I am already freezing.” I said.
And with that we walked down the road. ‘Stupid mud puddles!’ I thought as I stepped over icy mud trying not to get my heel stuck. Your pace was quick and your stride serious. I knew this talk we were about to have was going to be very in depth.
As we came around the corner I realized where you were taking us. To the spot where we had our second kiss. (The place we had our first kiss was in the kitchen of my house. And to have a serious talk we obviously couldn’t go there… -.-)
“Johanna…” you said a little nervously, I can tell when you are nervous dearest, I thought, “These past 20 day… It has been 20 right,” I nodded, “I have realized how lost I have been without you. I miss you. And now that I have sorted the things out that I needed to… I was wondering if you missed me too, and if you are willing to take me back… And I understand if…” My finger shot up to his mouth to silence him.
“Donald I did miss you… More than you will ever know. And yes I would gladly come back…” A smile spread across his face.
“Johanna I thought you would never take me back.” He said as he leaned down and kissed me. The kiss was as powerful and meaningful as our first kiss. I threw my arms around your neck and tears fell down my face.
“Don I thought you would never come back.” I said after we finished kissing. He hugged me, “Don can we please go home now my feet hurt and my legs are popsicles.” You laughed, God how I missed your laugh.
“Let’s get you home babe, your mom is probably home and is freaking out wondering where you are.” We both laughed. I slipped my hand in yours and realized every thing I ever needed was holding my hand right now. And for once since you left I felt safe, I felt loved.
