The Vampire Detective
He sat up at his desk and yawned. Midday. He had been working over seventy-two hours into this case. Murder. Murder most foul. It was always murder most foul these days. His name was Lucas Revenant. He was a Private Detective, hired by people in the Magical Community who wanted mysteries solved. He thought vampires got a bad rap, seeing as most vampires now drank blood that was donated to blood banks and that they only needed about two glasses a day. He smiled a breakthrough. He had found what he had wanted.
“Jonathan Lycaeon” he repeated the word on the page and found himself with the final piece he needed. He had no accent, he had lived in so many places for so many years that his voice had turned in a global accent. One that anyone could understand. The door opened and a girl stepped in. She was tall and thin. With blue eyes and black hair. She wore a rain coat with a hood. He stood he wore a black suit and tie with a white shirt. He had emerald green eyes and black hair with pale skin and wore black Fedora hat with a pinched front.
“Lucas Revenant?” she asked. He casually nodded. “My name is Melody Piper and I’m here to ask you for a favour.
“A favour, hmm…Well, no since I’m presently employed on a case” he replied.
“Tsch, I’m not asking…I am ordering” she growled.
“I’m not intimidated…surprisingly” he sarcastically muttered.
“Ah, Detective” muttered a small man as he entered. Korean, definitely Korean. He had a small beard and no hair. He wore a suit with no tie and brandished a samurai sword.
“Who the hell are you!” barked the girl.
“I am Yu” he answered.
“You are me?”
“No I am Mi” shouted a tall man with a machine gun. Before he could fire Detective Revenant grabbed her arm and jumped out the floor to ceiling window. He pulled a device out with his left hand as he held her with his right. He pressed a button and his office exploded.
“Joy” he muttered sarcastically as they landed.
“Detective” welcomed Jonathon Lycaeon as they landed. He was a medium sized man of medium build. He tapped his silver walking cane and guards grabbed the detective and the girl, bound them and locked them in the car’s boot, which had an air supplying machine.
“Oh great” Melody muttered. “Kidnapped.”
“Actually this is great” the detective laughed.
“How so?” Melody asked.
“Because now I can do this” he said and pulled a gun from his sleeve. He had somehow cut his bindings and that look he had was not one of peaceful escape…
