Are there ever any stories on the news you think that the reporters but into or the news shouldn't be covering? Or stories that should be covered just not at that moment?
I do. And it involves most celebrities. And its not just them either.

I don't blame the media for covering anything they want to personally. I blame the people who are ignorant enough to believe everything they hear about without doing proper research and then becoming opiniated based on it.
For instance, I heard someone today at school trying to convince someone else that Obama had built a mosque on top of the twin towers wreckage. I mean really. I don't know where people here these things, but if you take rumors and media as facts then you are extremely irresponsible.

Wow that is ridiculous. And I wish the same thing that people didnt take the news seriously all the time. I read what's in the paper and thats about it. Maybe whatever ends up on my phone as Latest News.

Ever heard of Darren Huff? Didn't think so.
Voice of Justice (Radio Iran) is always an alternate take on the MSM's "stories;" they're still covering the Occupy Movement, for example. I listen on 13650 or 11920 when I happen to be awake at 11:30 PM...
Pirate shortwave is always fun too, of course.

I think there's some things that the news shouldn't cover as a matter of common courtesy. When they get too involved in people's personal lives just to entertain the public, they've gone too far.
Sept. 12, 2012 at 7:33 pm
Of course there’s stories that should be covered in the news, and yet they never are. Everyone knows (even you liberals out there) that the media is biased towards the left in almost all scenarios. For example, when Todd Akin made his idiotic comments about r.a.p.e every major news station was all over it, but when it was revealed that the ATF let guns be sold to Mexican drug cartels, CNN, NBC, ABC, and all the rest of them didn’t want to touch it.

ceasar: nope, the media is biased towards the local branch of the ruling (capitalist) class's interests. In America that is the interests of the US empire
Sept. 15, 2012 at 2:57 pm
Two questions human6:
When you say U.S. Empire, do you mean the government in general?
Can you prove that media is biased towards the “ruling” class?
Sept. 15, 2012 at 3:15 pm
US empiret is the area of the world that is under the indirect control of the US government (NATO, the non CAN Latin American Countries, Iraq, Isreal, the Gulf Monarchies, Lybia, The Northern Alliance, Canada, Mexico ETC)
all mainstream media sources are owned by large corporations that have interests staked on the status quo (capitalism, empire, racism, poverty, prison slavery, wars of aggression, homelessness, wage slavery, ETC)

I can tell you for certain human6 that the U.S. has no control, indirect or otherwise, over Iraq, Israel, Canada, Mexico, NATO, or any other countries/organizations that you named. The United States may have influence in some of these areas, but they certainly don’t control them. There’s a big difference.
Also, while I do agree that most major news outlets are owned by large companies, I disagree that they’re always interested in protecting the status quo. After all, what do you think “investigative” journalism is?

America doesn't control them tell that to to the Chileans who voted allende

"Selling the News" by Switchfoot pretty much sums up what my position is on this issue. Here are the lyrics:
" Welcome to the Holy City; the silver screen
Built with a lens and a low self esteem
A teenager's plea for meaning and memes
We're selling the news
See, opinions are easier to swallow than facts
The greys instead of the whites and the blacks
If you shoot it too straight it won't come back
We're selling the news
See, money speaks volumes louder than words
And virtues with wings, maybe not quite at first
But salaries are paid by the ads not the verbs
We're selling the news
See, all men are equal; all is for sale
A powerful dog has been chasing his tail
The lowest common denominator prevails
We're selling the news
I wanna believe you, I wanna believe
But everything is in-between
The fact is fiction, the fact is fiction
I wanna believe you, I wanna believe
But everything is in-between
The fact is fiction
Suspicion is the new religion
America listens as the story is told
With the eye on the truth as the story unfolds
But the ratings determine which story was sold
We're selling the news
Begging the question, mongering fears
Stroking the eyes and tickling ears
The truth is seldom just as it appears
We're selling the news
I wanna believe you, I wanna believe
But everything is in-between
The fact is fiction, the fact is fiction
I wanna believe you, I wanna believe
But everything is in-between
The fact is fiction, the fact is fiction
I can see your talking heads
On the television set
On the Internet they said
The fact is fiction
Suspicion is the new religion
Substance, oh, substance, where have you been?
You've been replaced by the masters of spin
Who make good looking books and write history in
We're selling the news
The lines start to blur; I get so confused
I get shiny new models mixed up with the blues
I get binary code mixed up with abuse
The facts are simply one option to choose
When nothing is sacred, there's nothing to lose
When nothing is sacred, all is consumed
We're still on the air, it must be the truth
We're selling the news
I wanna believe you, I wanna believe
But everything is in-between
The fact is fiction, the fact is fiction
I wanna believe you, I wanna believe
But everything is in-between
The fact is fiction, the fact is fiction
I wanna believe you, I wanna believe
But everything I see is green
The fact is fiction
Suspicion is the new religion " -Switchfoot, lyrics compliments of azlyrics.

Americans had no say in Salvador Allende’s election. His seizing the presidency solely due to Chilean socio-political issues.

Yea, and what did they do when he was elected, they armed fascists and sent them to kill him.
when Guatemala nationalized its food production United Fruit had the CIA take out the leader
Theirs also the contra's

Alright, some of that I agree with, some I don’t. Let’s get back to whole reason for this forum. News reporters. I’ll say the same thing that I said before. In the United States, the mainstream media is (for the most part) biased towards liberalism and leftists. That's the truth of it.
Sept. 20, 2012 at 8:03 am
Evidence for that claim please. It didn't report on the green party, the only major leftie party or IWW organizing
Sept. 20, 2012 at 5:46 pm
I already told you about the ATF gunwalking scandal. Then there’s the media crying that Mitt Romney messed up when he spoke about the embassy attacks, not covering Obama’s refusing to meet with the Israeli Prime Minister, and not even turning their heads when Obama stated that he has no idea what our national debt is. The list goes on and on.
By the way, the Green Party and IWW are both on the left.
Sept. 21, 2012 at 8:30 am
Obama is a fascist just like Romney, my point was they don't cover real leftists, just fake ones like Obama and the Dems
