Having plenty of experience with the subject, I believe that cutting, when it's taken seriously, is a serious affliction. Many people who cut do it for attention, but others do it because they need to. It's a serious addiction. Cutting releases endorphines that produce a sensation similar to getting high. It's a definite way to relieve stress, but it's also harmful in many ways. I have many scars on my thighs and forearms and they have become a burdon when I'm trying to get a job, or make friends. I live without regrets, so I've accepted them as part of me and something I can't change. I also believe it hurts others as well. Family, friends and lovers especially. I believe it makes them feel inadequate because it's a way to show that you're not happy with your life or the way you are.

That actually makes a lot of sense, mmariahshaee. That makes me understand a little better why everyone wants serious cutters to stop cutting. Thanks for the objective insight! C:

my streak of no cuttin apparently has been ovr since friday and Thrusday will probably b worse cuz its Valentines day & i wont get to see mi corazon (my heart)... yeah yeah yeah i shouldnt feel bad cuz at least i have a Valentine.... dios mio (oh my god) i sound pathetic... im sorry

You'll at least try to stay clean on Thursday, I hope? It sounds like you've already planned to cut. You have to believe that you are able to stay clean if you want to even have a try at recovery. <3 And I'm sorry about Friday. What happened?

That's terrific, Jamie! I'm so proud of you! I haven't cut in quite a while either. I'm not keeping track of how long though. I guess it's only been a month or two, buts that's progress!(: Keirsten, I hope your Valentine's day went well! I'm curious to know whether or not you cut also. It's great that you were about to see him. But was that enough to stop you? It sounded like you had it already planned...

1: My Valentine's day was okay. Nothing special, really. I wore a dress to school and someone asked if I hated Valentine's day since the dress happened to be black. (*sigh*) No. I just felt like wearing a dress, okay? And that's the dress I happened to feel like wearing.
2: You put breaks in paragraphs by typing < br > with no spaces. You don't need to do it n the computer anymore, though!
3: not an answer to questions, but ugh I hate the fact that my history teacher doesn't break up my tests on Fridays to accommodate B lunch. That's the only time I get to see my best friend and instead he makes us go to C lunch where I know no one and have to find a desolate place in the school to eat and read and worry over the possibility of getting caught. It depresses me so much and it kicks my weekends off to a bad start. I just started in history during lunch period this semester, and even though it means I have friends in my regular lunch, I hate it on Fridays. Just a rant.

You can wear what you want to school? That's so cool. My school has uniforms. It's...easy. Haha I never have to worry about what I'm wearing. I'm out of school right now though. We're on Mardi Gras break. You saying school on Valentines Day threw me off. I forget not everyone is on vacation. X(

How come you're on vacation? So many people are on vacation! My school's a public school, so no uniforms, no.
Im so disappointed in myself. I had a chance to be truthful about my depression today and I lied again. I want help so badly, but I can't seem to find the courage to tell someone! I'm sorry that I'm a hypocrite.
